Ingredients
  

Cake Batter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1.75 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tbsp espresso powder
  • 1 cup brewed coffee
  • 0.5 cup Baileys Irish Cream
  • 0.5 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare pans.
  2. Whisk dry ingredients together.
  3. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs.
  4. Alternate adding wet and dry ingredients.
  5. Bake 30–35 minutes and cool.
  6. Prepare frosting and assemble cake.

Use quality cocoa and espresso for best flavor depth.
