Ingredients
  

Shortbread Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cardamom ground
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp salt
Orange Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp orange juice fresh
  • 1 tsp orange zest

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 340°F (170°C) and prepare baking sheet.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Combine dry ingredients and add to mixture.
  5. Form dough and roll out.
  6. Cut shapes and place on baking sheet.
  7. Bake until lightly golden.
  8. Cool completely before glazing.
  9. Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over cookies.

Notes

Chill dough if too soft. Use fresh orange zest for best flavor.
