Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
- Cook ground beef in a skillet until browned. Add onion and garlic and cook until soft.
- Stir in BBQ sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 3–5 minutes.
- Mix half the crumbled bacon into the beef mixture.
- Spread beef mixture into baking dish and top with cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
- Mix cornbread batter ingredients until just combined.
- Spread cornbread batter over cheese layer evenly.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and cooked through.
- Add remaining bacon on top and bake for 5 more minutes.
- Rest 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Best served warm. Flavors deepen after resting. Can be refrigerated for up to 4 days.
