- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl. Let sit until foamy.
- Mix flour, salt, garlic powder, parsley, and black pepper in a large bowl.
- Add yeast mixture and olive oil to dry ingredients and mix into a shaggy dough.
- Fold shredded cheddar cheese evenly into the dough.
- Cover dough and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled.
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C) with Dutch oven inside.
- Shape dough into a round loaf and place on parchment paper.
- Transfer dough carefully into hot Dutch oven.
- Brush top with melted butter and minced garlic.
- Bake covered for 30 minutes, then uncovered for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
