Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 0.33 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.33 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tsp salt
Cherry Chocolate Filling
  • 1.5 cups cherry pie filling
  • 0.75 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.33 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter softened
Vanilla Glaze
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar in a bowl and let sit until foamy.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt.
  3. Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead dough until smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover dough and let rise until doubled in size.
  6. Roll dough into a large rectangle.
  7. Spread butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, cherry filling, and chocolate chips over dough.
  8. Roll tightly into a log and slice into 12 rolls.
  9. Place rolls in greased baking dish and let rise again.
  10. Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Whisk glaze ingredients together and drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

For extra flavor, add almond extract to the glaze or sprinkle toasted almonds over the finished sweet rolls.
