Ingredients
  

Mug Cake Batter
  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp chocolate chips optional
Peanut Butter Lava Center
  • 2 tbsp creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar optional
  • 1 tsp milk if needed to soften

Equipment

  • Microwave-safe mug
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon

Method
 

  1. In a microwave-safe mug, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add milk, oil, and vanilla extract and stir until smooth.
  3. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  4. Mix peanut butter with powdered sugar until smooth.
  5. Add half the batter into the mug.
  6. Place peanut butter mixture in the center carefully.
  7. Cover with remaining batter.
  8. Microwave for 60–90 seconds until cake rises but stays soft in the center.
  9. Let rest for 1 minute before serving.

Notes

Do not overcook to maintain lava center.
