- Cook chow mein noodles according to package instructions and drain.
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add garlic and onion and stir fry until fragrant.
- Add cabbage and carrots and cook 2-3 minutes.
- Add cooked noodles to the pan.
- Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and pepper in a bowl.
- Pour sauce over noodles and toss well.
- Cook another 2-3 minutes until noodles absorb the sauce.
- Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
Notes
Add chicken, shrimp, tofu, or beef for a protein-packed version of this chow mein.
