Ingredients
  

Noodles
  • 8 oz chow mein noodles
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 onion sliced
  • 2 cups green cabbage shredded
  • 0.5 cup carrots julienned
Sauce
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 0.5 tsp sugar
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 green onions sliced

Equipment

  • Wok or large skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Cooking pot
  • Tongs or spatula

Method
 

  1. Cook chow mein noodles according to package instructions and drain.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add garlic and onion and stir fry until fragrant.
  4. Add cabbage and carrots and cook 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add cooked noodles to the pan.
  6. Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and pepper in a bowl.
  7. Pour sauce over noodles and toss well.
  8. Cook another 2-3 minutes until noodles absorb the sauce.
  9. Garnish with green onions and serve hot.

Notes

Add chicken, shrimp, tofu, or beef for a protein-packed version of this chow mein.
