Ingredients
  

  • 4 oranges large
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract optional

Method
 

  1. Slice and blanch oranges twice to reduce bitterness.
  2. Simmer oranges in sugar syrup until translucent.
  3. Cool and dry on wire rack.
  4. Coat with sugar if desired and store.

Notes

Humidity affects drying time. Allow extra time if needed.
