Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 2 chicken breasts (cut into strips)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp salt
Bang Bang Sauce
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 0.25 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp sriracha adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp lime juice
Tacos & Toppings
  • 8 small tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 0.5 cup shredded lettuce
  • fresh cilantro
  • lime wedges

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Deep frying pan or skillet

Method
 

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Dip chicken into flour mixture, then eggs, then flour again.
  4. Fry chicken in hot oil at 350°F until golden and crispy.
  5. Mix all bang bang sauce ingredients until smooth.
  6. Warm tortillas in a pan until soft and lightly toasted.
  7. Assemble tacos with cabbage, chicken, sauce, and toppings.

Notes

Double coating the chicken ensures maximum crispiness. Serve immediately for best texture.
