  • vegetable oil for frying

Method
 

  1. Slice banana peppers into rings and prepare ingredients.
  2. Mix flour, cornmeal, and seasonings in a bowl.
  3. Dip peppers into buttermilk then coat with flour mixture.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry peppers in batches until golden and crispy.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

Notes

Double coating creates extra crispiness. Adjust spices for desired heat level.
