- Marinate chicken tenders in buttermilk for at least 20 minutes.
- Combine flour and seasonings in a bowl.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
- Coat chicken in seasoned flour mixture.
- Fry chicken until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain fried chicken on paper towels.
- Combine barbecue sauce honey hot sauce red pepper flakes and butter in a saucepan.
- Simmer sauce until glossy and slightly thickened.
- Toss crispy chicken in hot honey BBQ sauce.
- Warm tortillas and assemble tacos with toppings.
- Serve immediately with extra sauce if desired.
Notes
For extra crunch double coat the chicken before frying. Air fry option also works well for a lighter version.
