  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 0.33 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup strawberry pie filling
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
Wontons
  • 20 wonton wrappers
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp water
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • powdered sugar for garnish
  • fresh strawberries for garnish
  • whipped cream for serving

Method
 

  1. Beat softened cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Mix until creamy.
  3. Fold in strawberry pie filling gently.
  4. Whisk egg and water together to create egg wash.
  5. Place wonton wrappers on a clean surface and add filling to the center.
  6. Brush edges with egg wash and seal tightly.
  7. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Fry wontons in batches until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Drain on paper towels.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with strawberries before serving.

Notes

Serve warm for the best creamy cheesecake texture. Air fry for a lighter option if preferred.
