Method
- Place chicken, carrots, celery, and onion in the crock pot. Pour in broth and add salt, pepper, thyme, and parsley.
- Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours until chicken is tender.
- Remove chicken, shred with forks, and return to crock pot.
- In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in melted butter and milk to form soft dough.
- Drop spoonfuls of dumpling dough on top of simmering chicken. Cover and cook on high for 30–40 minutes until dumplings are cooked.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
Leftovers store up to 3 days. Reheat gently on stovetop to maintain dumpling texture.
