Cookie Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs large
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 18 soft caramel candies
  • 1 tsp flaky sea salt for topping

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until dough forms.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  7. Chill dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
  8. Flatten portions of dough, place caramel in center, and wrap dough around completely.
  9. Place cookie dough balls onto prepared baking sheets.
  10. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set.
  11. Sprinkle flaky sea salt on warm cookies immediately after baking.
  12. Cool slightly before serving warm and gooey.

Notes

For extra indulgence, drizzle warm caramel sauce over cookies before serving. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
