Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh watermelon seedless and rind removed
  • 0.25 cup blueberries optional

  • Food dehydrator or oven
  • Paper towels

Method
 

  1. Wash the watermelon thoroughly and remove the rind completely.
  2. Remove any seeds if present to ensure the treat is safe for dogs.
  3. Slice the watermelon into thin strips about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Pat slices dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  5. Arrange slices in a single layer on dehydrator trays without overlapping.
  6. Dehydrate at 135°F (57°C) for 8–12 hours until chewy and leathery.
  7. Allow the jerky to cool completely before storing.
  8. Serve small pieces to your dog as an occasional treat.

Notes

Always remove watermelon seeds and rind before preparing dog treats. Store jerky in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week or freeze for longer storage.
