- Combine warm water and yeast in a large bowl and let sit until foamy.
- Add flour, salt, olive oil, garlic, Parmesan cheese, parsley, and Italian seasoning.
- Mix into a shaggy dough and knead until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled.
- Shape dough into a rustic round loaf.
- Place loaf on a cornmeal-dusted baking surface and let rise again.
- Brush with melted butter and top with extra Parmesan cheese.
- Score the top of the dough and bake until golden brown and crusty.
- Cool slightly before slicing and serving warm.
Notes
For extra crusty bread, place a small pan of hot water in the oven while baking. Serve warm with butter or olive oil dipping sauce.
