Ingredients
  

Pastry Bites
  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 8 oz goat cheese
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese softened
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp water
Optional Toppings
  • 0.25 cup chopped walnuts optional
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme optional
  • 0.25 cup crushed pistachios optional
  • 2 tbsp hot honey drizzle optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix goat cheese, cream cheese, and honey together until smooth.
  3. Roll puff pastry lightly and cut into equal squares.
  4. Place small portions of goat cheese filling into the center of each pastry square.
  5. Fold pastry corners slightly inward to shape the bites.
  6. Whisk egg and water together to create egg wash.
  7. Brush pastry edges with egg wash.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  9. Cool slightly before drizzling with honey and adding toppings.
  10. Serve warm for best flavor and texture.

Notes

For extra flavor, add fig jam or fresh herbs before baking. Serve warm for the creamiest texture and best presentation.
