Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast
  • 0.75 cup milk warm
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 egg large
Filling
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
Glaze
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Method
 

  1. Activate yeast in warm milk.
  2. Mix in sugar, butter, egg, and flour to form dough.
  3. Knead until smooth and let rise until doubled.
  4. Roll out dough, spread filling, and roll into log.
  5. Slice and shape into hearts.
  6. Let rise again and bake at 350°F for 18-22 minutes.
  7. Prepare glaze and spread over warm rolls.

Notes

For best texture, avoid overbaking. Rolls should be soft and lightly golden.
