Ingredients
  

Fritters
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 cup corn kernels
  • oil for frying
Honey Butter
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • salt pinch

  • Mixing bowls

Method
 

  1. Whisk dry ingredients together.
  2. Mix wet ingredients separately.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients.
  4. Fold in corn kernels.
  5. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Drop batter into oil and fry until golden.
  7. Drain on paper towels.
  8. Mix honey butter ingredients.
  9. Drizzle over fritters and serve.

Notes

Serve warm for best texture. Add spices or cheese for variation.
