Ingredients
  

Crust
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 egg
Gooey Layer
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 0.5 cup salted caramel sauce for topping
  • 0.25 tsp flaky sea salt for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven and line baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix cake mix, melted butter, and one egg to form dough.
  3. Press dough evenly into prepared pan.
  4. Beat cream cheese until smooth.
  5. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
  6. Gradually add powdered sugar until smooth.
  7. Pour filling over crust and spread evenly.
  8. Bake until edges are set and center is slightly jiggly.
  9. Cool completely, drizzle with caramel, and sprinkle with sea salt.

Notes

For clean slices, chill before cutting. Bars firm up as they cool.
