Ingredients
  

Sausage Gravy
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.33 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3.5 cups whole milk
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp onion powder
Biscuits
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits or homemade biscuits
  • 2 tbsp parsley chopped for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven and bake biscuits according to package directions or homemade recipe.
  2. Cook breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned.
  3. Add butter and allow it to melt completely.
  4. Sprinkle flour over sausage and stir continuously for 1–2 minutes.
  5. Slowly whisk in milk while stirring constantly.
  6. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  7. Cook until gravy thickens and becomes creamy.
  8. Split warm biscuits and place on serving plates.
  9. Spoon sausage gravy generously over biscuits.
  10. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra Southern flavor, add additional black pepper or hot sauce before serving. Best enjoyed fresh and warm.
