Ingredients
  

Chicken Marinade
  • 2 lbs chicken pieces
  • 2 cups buttermilk
Coating
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Deep frying skillet
  • Wire rack
  • Tongs

Method
 

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least 4 hours.
  2. Mix flour with spices in a bowl.
  3. Dip chicken into egg then coat in flour mixture.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F.
  5. Fry chicken until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Drain on wire rack and serve hot.

Notes

Allow chicken to rest after coating to help the crust stick better.
