Ingredients
  

Meatballs
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 0.5 lb ground pork
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg large
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
Sticky Hoisin Sauce
  • 0.5 cup hoisin sauce
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sriracha
  • 2 tbsp water

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine ground beef, pork, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, ginger, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper.
  3. Mix gently and form evenly sized meatballs.
  4. Place meatballs on baking sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sriracha, and water in a saucepan.
  6. Simmer sauce until slightly thickened.
  7. Add baked meatballs to sauce and toss until fully coated.
  8. Simmer for 2 additional minutes before serving.
  9. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

Serve with rice, noodles, or as a party appetizer with toothpicks for easy serving.
