Cheese Sauce
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk warm
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese freshly shredded
  • 0.25 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp paprika
  • salt to taste
  • cayenne pepper optional

Method
 

  1. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Slowly whisk in warm milk until smooth.
  4. Cook until thickened.
  5. Add shredded cheddar and stir until melted.
  6. Season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and optional cayenne.
  7. Serve warm over fries.

Notes

Use freshly shredded cheese for the smoothest texture. Reheat gently with a splash of milk.
